REVIEW – After spending months comparing laptops, reading reviews, and trying machines in stores, I finally bought a Razer Blade 15″. That much time and money makes protection feel less like an accessory purchase and more like insurance, even if the products I tested carry Alienware branding instead of Razer branding. Mobile Edge sent over the Alienware Vindicator 2.0 Backpack 15″ and the Alienware Neoprene Sleeve 15″, and the pairing turned out to be a very practical way to carry a 15″ laptop. The backpack sells for $74.99, the sleeve is $28.71, and both products are also available in 13″ and 17″ versions.
What Mobile Edge sent
The Vindicator 2.0 Backpack is built as a three section tech bag for a 15″ laptop, with room left for accessories such as a tablet, power supply, folders, cables, and other everyday carry gear. Its overall look matches the Alienware style: black, angular, a little futuristic, and not shy about being a gaming laptop bag.
The Neoprene Sleeve is much simpler, but it is not just a thin slipcase. It has padding, a handle, and a zippered outer pocket. You can carry a laptop in it by itself, or place the sleeved computer inside the Vindicator 2.0 for extra peace of mind.
Using the sleeve with the backpack
The first thing I checked was whether the two items actually work together. They do. My laptop fits inside the sleeve, and the sleeve then slides into the laptop compartment of the backpack without forcing the zipper or wasting the main storage space.
That combination is what makes the set appealing to me. The sleeve handles bumps and scratches around the computer, while the backpack gives me the organized capacity I need when the laptop, charger, mouse, and other items all have to come along.
Exterior design and comfort
The Vindicator 2.0 is not a plain office backpack. The black exterior uses textured high density nylon, the trim is bright teal, and the interior mixes teal and gray. It looks slick and technical, which fits the Alienware brand, but it avoids feeling overloaded with logos.
The front logo is embossed and shiny, while the back panel gets a more subtle rubberized Alienware wordmark. I like that the branding is clear without turning the whole bag into a billboard.
The straps are comfortable, and the chest strap helps when the backpack is loaded. Mobile Edge also added adjustable upper shoulder straps, which make it easier to fine tune how the pack rides on your back.
There are small convenience details everywhere. I especially like the tiny zippered pockets near the straps and the hidden water bottle holder, because both features are useful without disrupting the backpack shape.
When the bottle holder is not in use, it tucks back into the side compartment and disappears. It is a clever design touch and one of the nicer surprises on the outside of the pack.
Laptop, tablet, and middle storage
The section closest to your back is the dedicated 15″ laptop area. The laptop sleeve area is lined with a textured fabric to help prevent scratches, and there is a separate pocket sized for a tablet or phone.
Inside that device pocket, the lining is faux fur. That is exactly the kind of surface I want touching a screen or a polished metal and plastic device exterior.
The middle compartment is set up for documents and flexible storage. It has an open folder pocket, a big zippered mesh pocket, and enough give to handle things like magazines, school binders, or larger flat items.
A more unusual trick is hidden at the bottom of this center section. The folder and mesh divider panel can be unzipped and removed completely, which changes the character of the backpack from organized tech carrier to much more open cargo space.
Once you open that zipper, the panel lifts out. If you often carry larger items, this gives the Vindicator 2.0 a lot more flexibility than a fixed interior layout would.
Putting the panel back is not complicated. You find the lower zipper and attach the partition again. I like having the choice, because some days I want organization and other days I just need room.
Front organization and power bag
The front compartment is where smaller accessories get sorted. It includes several mesh pockets, a card slot area for credit or business cards, pen holders, and two slots that are made for USB sticks.
There is also an elastic loop and tie. That kind of small anchor is useful for keys, headphones, cables, or other awkward accessories that would otherwise sink to the bottom of the bag.
My favorite included accessory is the power supply bag. Every size of the Vindicator 2.0 includes it, and it is designed to keep bulky bricks and cables together instead of letting them roam through the backpack.
The small bag has its own Alienware logo, a carry strap, and enough volume for even a large power brick. I really appreciate Mobile Edge including it with the backpack instead of making it a separate purchase.
The neoprene sleeve
The Alienware Neoprene Sleeve feels just as rugged and useful as the backpack, only in a smaller form. It has the same glossy metallic Alienware head logo on the front and rubberized Alienware lettering on the back.
The zippers are sturdy and use the same bright teal accent color as the backpack. I do wish the zipper pulls were larger on both products, but that is a preference rather than a serious complaint.
The handle makes the sleeve feel more like a compact laptop case than a basic cover. The stitching looks strong, and the body of the sleeve is thick enough that I was comfortable trusting it with an expensive laptop.
The outside zippered pouch is another reason the sleeve works well on its own. It is roomy enough for a mouse, and it could even hold a smaller power supply if that is what you need to carry.
What I liked

What could be better
- Larger zipper pulls would have been nice on both items
- A few long time users have reported stitching failure, so durability over time is still something to watch
Final thoughts
The Alienware Vindicator Backpack (15) and Alienware Neoprene Sleeve (15) both impressed me. The backpack has a huge amount of space, useful organization, a removable center divider, comfortable straps, a hidden bottle pouch, and the bonus power supply bag. At $74.99, it compares well with other computer backpacks that offer this level of storage and protection. The $28.71 sleeve is also easy to recommend because it is solidly built, protects a 15″ laptop, works inside the Vindicator 2.0, and can also serve as a small carry case thanks to its handle and outer pocket.
