REVIEW – Plastic picks wear down, chip, and vanish into couch cushions. I’ve played guitar since I was a kid, and I’ve gone through more of them than I could ever count. The FEGVE Vibee is the opposite of a disposable pick. FEGVE machines it from a solid block of titanium on a CNC mill into a shape close to a small jazz pick, with wider, sharper shoulders, ridges along the top for grip, and a hole cut through it. It’s 0.12 inches (3 mm) thick and weighs 0.14 ounces (4 g), and it’s built to outlast a drawer full of plastic. It’s on Kickstarter now, with single-pick pledges at about $44.

Note: The FEGVE Vibee was sent to me by FEGVE at no cost. They had no editorial input and did not see this review before it published.

What You Get

  • FEGVE Vibee titanium guitar pick
  • Clear display case
  • Cardboard sleeve

The Basics

The Vibee comes in two versions. The standard one is Grade 5 titanium alloy, and a limited run of 200 is made from niobium titanium, a superconducting alloy that FEGVE sells as the premium edition. Both are CNC machined to the same 1.30 by 1.06 inch (33 by 27 mm) outline and 0.12-inch (3 mm) thickness. The niobium titanium pick weighs twice as much, 0.28 ounces against 0.14 (8 g against 4 g).

The top half of the pick is the grip. Raised ridges run across it, two long slots are cut into the face, and a teardrop-shaped hole goes all the way through. The bottom half tapers to the playing tip, with a beveled edge machined around it. The FEGVE logo is engraved on the front, and the back is smooth.

FEGVE offers nine finishes, including an icy blue called Frozen Aurora, a black called Deep Abyss, and a deep red called Crimson Inferno. The one I have is plain gray titanium.

Design & Build

The machining is clean. The ridges are even, the edges of the slots and the hole are smooth, and the bevel around the tip runs evenly from one shoulder to the other with no burrs to catch a string. The finish is a soft matte gray that doesn’t show fingerprints.

The back is flat and smooth, with the hole cut through near the top.

Next to a standard plastic pick, the Vibee covers about the same area, so it doesn’t feel oversized in the hand. The difference is thickness. At 0.12 inches it’s about three times as thick as a heavy plastic pick, and it has no flex at all.

Playing It

The ridges and the hole give my thumb and finger something to hold, and the pick stays put during a long run of strumming without rotating in my grip. The weight is noticeable at first. It’s heavier than any plastic pick I own, and it took a few songs before I stopped thinking about it.

On an acoustic, the sound is brighter than with plastic, with a sharper attack on each note. A rigid pick gives every string the same push, so single-note lines come out clean and even. Strumming is where the lack of flex shows, since a stiff 3 mm pick doesn’t give on a hard downstroke, and I had to loosen my grip to keep chords from sounding harsh. The beveled tip helps here, letting the pick glide off the strings instead of snagging.

Kickstarter Pledges

The campaign runs through November 2, 2026, and it’s all or nothing, so backers are only charged if it reaches its goal. One titanium pick is about $44, three are about $77, five about $122, and ten about $230, which brings the price per pick down to $23. The niobium titanium pick is HK$3,335, about $426. Add-ons include extra titanium picks, extra niobium titanium picks, and a titanium necklace for carrying a pick around your neck. FEGVE says the Vibee will sell on its own website at regular retail after the campaign ends.

A standard plastic pick costs well under a dollar, so even at the pledge price the Vibee sits at the very top of what anyone pays for a pick. The case for it is that you buy it once, and it doesn’t wear down, chip, or crack the way plastic does.

What Could Be Better

There’s no flex. Players who like a thin, bendy pick for strumming will find a 3 mm metal pick stiff, and it takes a lighter grip to keep chords from turning harsh.

Metal against metal strings is harder on them than plastic, so expect to change strings a little sooner if the Vibee becomes your only pick.

It’s a Kickstarter. Delivery dates are estimates, and after the campaign closes the only source is FEGVE’s own store, at a retail price it hasn’t announced yet.

And at about $44, it costs more than a lifetime supply of plastic picks. The point is that it’s the last pick you buy, and a pick this heavy is also a lot harder to lose in the couch.

Final Thoughts

The FEGVE Vibee is a beautifully machined pick that trades flex for brightness, grip, and a lifespan longer than mine. It plays clean single notes and takes a lighter hand on strummed chords, and at about $44 it’s a splurge on something most players buy by the bag. For a guitarist who wants one pick that never wears out, it’s an easy one to back.

Where to buy: FEGVE’s Kickstarter campaign
What I like: Clean CNC machining, ridges and hole that keep it from slipping, bright, even attack on single notes
